Lymphatic drainage is a technique designed to stimulate the flow of lymph (a fluid that transports white blood cells, oxygen, and nutrients to tissues throughout the body).
This post-surgical lymphedema (Swelling) is caused by inflammation and trauma from the cannula (instrument used to aspire the fat) moving under the skin during the procedure.
Channels are formed by the cannula that fill up with fluid. Tissues become very swollen. Manual Lymph Massages help to move along this fluid by gently pumping it back into your lymph vessels. Reducing swelling and softening tissues right after your First massage. Making recovery much faster and less discomfort is felt.
