The best candidate for laser hair removal would be someone that’s interested in removing unwanted hair long term. That’s because we want the laser to “see” the hair without “seeing” the skin because we want the hair, not the skin, to absorb the laser light. Having said that, basically, anyone who has some pigmentation to their hair is a good candidate for laser hair removal. This is as long as the hair is not around the eyes. So that means that almost everyone is a good.
It usually depends on the person and the area. A slight stinging sensation may occur when the laser pulses.
A laser hair removal session can last anywhere from a few minutes to an hour, depending on the size and number of areas treated. Before the session, you’ll be given protective eye gear. Once the session begins, you’ll feel a stinging sensation when the laser becomes active. Will it hurt? It really depends on your hair density and thickness, but most of our patients just describe it as a very tolerable prickling sensation and some feel minimal to no pain at all.
